After ripping a few dozen CDs without a problem I finally ran into something very similar to this bug. I cannot get an accurate RIP and always end up with the same checksum on this track:

From the log:

What is the right way to handle this situation?

I don't think there's any way to handle this - I think it's a wrongly pressed or scratched CD. Try ripping it with EAC and see what checksum it gets there?

The CD looks perfect. I will try with EAC if I get a chance to get my fingers on a Windows machine. As a last option, I will get the same CD from a friend to see if it makes a difference.

Alright, I first borrowed the same album from a friend and tried with that, same result. Then I gave dbpoweramp a try. Running on the same system (same drive), even on Linux (using wine), I get another CRC for the track in question and the rip is verified as accurate! I don't really understand how this is possible but maybe I can provide additional information so you can digg in further?

Actually, this also happens to me sometimes. Last with a brand new cd, new from box.
When this happens, I have an older cd-rw connected to my computer that I rip with. It's always accurate with that one :)
Have not tried with any other software with the same drive, so I don't know if it's something with the drive, software or the cd...
Regards.
