Decided to start using advogato.org Seems like a good idea to attract more developers for my hobby project, The Dave/Dina Project. Take a look if you're interested, every multimedia hacker should have one in his living room !
In preparation of the arrival of new developers, I re-organized some of the directory tree I use in developing everything. I'm sure every medium-scale project has issues like these.
For example, I have personal cvs copies on four machines : my work machine, my home machine, the actual Dave/Dina box itself, and my laptop (it's great to be working on trains !). I also have an anonymously checked out copy on the web server, from which bugs and todo files are generated.
So, what I did was to decide on a common directory layout for all of these cases, allowing for development cvs, anonymous cvs, actual building areas, and collection of end result RPM's used in the final distribution, to be rsync'd to the web server. I think I've decided on a pretty reasonable layout and structure, and maybe I'll comment on it some more in the future.
If you have similar problems, let me know.
