Because people are too stupid (or want to for ‘fashion’ reasons) to disable the default signature. Its the same with Blackberries. Who cares what sort of mail device/client it comes from!

Why whine about iphone? Why not whine about pointless signatures in general? Why would I want to know what song you are currently listening (one blogger on planet.gnome.org insists on telling me that all the time)? Why should I read some witty comment over and over again? At least those iphone-folks didn’t go out their way to create that sig, they just never disabled the default.
